What is National Voter Education Week?
Throughout our years of experience promoting nonpartisan voter engagement in collaboration with colleges and universities, corporations, and election officials, we have seen many efforts focused on voter registration and voter turnout, but few focused on voter education – an essential component in ensuring that those who are registered cast a ballot.
Complementing the incredible success of National Voter Registration Day and the exciting 2020 launch of Vote Early Day, National Voter Education Week is a nonpartisan digital voter education campaign that equips voters with the tools, information, and confidence they need to cast their ballots. Launched in 2020 as well, National Voter Education Week works in conjunction with the other Civic Holidays.
Held during the first week of October, National Voter Education Week (NVEW) is a week-long digital campaign, with events live-streamed on various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. During this week of interactive education, voters learn to find their polling location, understand their ballot, make a plan to vote in person or by mail, and more.
Young adults are our nation’s largest eligible voting block.
This generation of new voters is enthusiastic about civic participation and eager to make their voices heard. National Voter Education Week is a campaign that will equip all voters with the tools, information, and confidence they need to cast their ballots this fall.
New voters in particular often point to systemic barriers and lack of knowledge as key factors that keep them out of the voting booth. National Voter Education Week helps all voters overcome these barriers and bridge the gap between registering to vote and actually casting a ballot. NVEW helps voters overcome common barriers to become confident voters and ambassadors of voting in their own communities every election.

2021 Partners
In its second year, National Voter Education Week is made possible by the collaborative efforts of partners and individuals from across the country. And while everyone is free to celebrate National Voter Education Week (and we hope they do!), official partnership is restricted to nonpartisan activities inclusive and welcoming of all voters.
